My dear Kazoku,

Here’s the weeks updates for you!

So first things first. I will be sending a package home to Mom and Dad today, there is candy in it for the warehouse staff and for mom. A birthday letter to mom. My meishi and misison map for the family. My SD card with 608 photo’s of all the MTC and 1st Transfer in Japan as well as several videos giving you a tour of the apt and showing you just how long my hair is. I am proud to say that I officially have the Longest hair in the Japan Tokyo Mission. (Is that braggable?) Haha.

On Saturday we (Johnson Choro and I) called our brethren serving in Yachiyou and we did yard clean up at the church. I manned the weedwacker and ate up all the brush growing on the property. Holy cow, it has been a few years since I had the opportunity to wack some weeds. It was fun and it added to my great new missionary farmer tan. Thanks for all those yard skills you taught me when I was young, Dad.  What great skills. After helping out in the yard, we went and helped out a Peruvian member named Marcello and his wife and autistic son move. Once more, it was beneficial for my sun-tan and great to do some service. I really like the break from the normal routine.

We issued a baptismal invitation to Murayama Shimai last week and met with her yesterday morning. She told us that she wants to be baptised. So we will set a date hopefully next week. She’s such a genki lady and gives us vegetable juice weekly. Haha. I would’ve never accepted before the mission, but seeing how I am an herbivore, I down that stuff. It’s like Gold.  She is a wonderful Lady and has some great friendships with Ward Members already. What a blessing.

It’s really hot outside. The rain comes and goes but Tsuyu is over. Thank goodness. I love the Air-Conditioning and I tend to worship it as a false idol when I return from biking. I biked 28 miles on friday, it just about killed me. My thighs are getting stronger tho, which is nice.

Pres. Albrecht called me to thank me for my work as a missionary just out of the blue on friday night. That really took me by surprise and I was really grateful for that call.

That’s pretty much all the highlights from the week. Narita is great, I am staying busy for the most part. I am close to my 2 month mark here in Japan. Crazy. The language is coming along, still slow and progression seems halted at certain times, but I’ll grow into it, I know that for a fact.

I have joined a tennis club!! Haha. Yeah, that’s pretty big news. Johnson choro and I play tennis every p-day for a few hours. So we joined a Tennis Club and have private lessons. I find it so rad, here I am, a missionary in Japan, and I am taking private Tennis Lessons. haha. How baller.

I have been reading the Gospels of the new testament and have really had my mind opened up to a whole lot of symbolism that lies within this Gospel.  Things that I thought were so simple really have so many layers of understanding. It’s really cool. almost like a puzzle piece that just unfolds in front of my eyes. Really stellar. My fav. scripture of the week is in 2nd Timothy 4:7. It’s Pauls testimony and it is what i will say at my homecoming.  Great words, the Apostles of old sure went through some rough times as missionaries.

Well family, Stay faithful and Lead by example.  Know that I’m out here working as best as I am capable of doing.

Love,

Elder Toddly
